The measurements listed on the following charts are from the garment when it is laid flat. Each garment is made of stretch fabric of varying degrees depending on the style. Most styles fit best when they are snug, and most riders perfer the smaller of the two sizes if in question. If you need assistance, please call or email. We are happy to provide suggestions.

How to Measure

Start by taking these four measurements:

Rise
Measure from your pubic bone (where the seams meet at the crotch of your pants) to just below your bellybutton. The pants are made to be “medium rise” or below your natural waist. You will find that once seated, this is a very comfortable height. Pick the closest measurement on the chart. This measurement is the starting point in determining if our pants are a good fit for you.

Natural Waist/Low Waist
The most appropriate waistband measurement is not the smallest part located below your ribs (natural waist); it is where the top of the pants end (low waistband) – so measure from the rise location explained above. The Trail Rider/Ultra have the most give and will stretch a few additional inches, the jean styles have a waistband that does not have much give even though the fabric is stretch.

Hips
Measure approximately 7-8″ below the waistband (should be the widest part of your hip).

Inseam
Measure from the “bump” in your jeans or pubic bone to the ground. Add a few inches for Western type boots or your preference on paddock boots. Some styles offer tall length which is 36 inches. Remember that you will probably be wearing a boot with a heel. Most women over 5’5 prefer the 36 inch inseam. Please call or email us: info@smoothstride.com for more measuring information.
